Pssst, Today I feel so blessed. Had awesome bread toast for breakfast, lamb beriyani rice for lunch, and Shish Kebab for dinner. Aaauuw! Thanks mum, thanks Mr. Awesome for the beriyani (and for the ehem ehem) and most of all, thank you Allah!

We had a 3-hour lunch break today. Initially we wanted to have McDonald’s but when Cindy suddenly mentioned the word meatballs, we wanted to have some at Ikea. So we, Cindy, Meera, Danang, Muiz and I drove there. When we got there, it turned out ze meatballs would only be served at 11.30am so we took a lil’ tour around Ikea and played around macam budak-budak hitam yang jakun. hahahah.

and yeah, we actually lied and took photo in this small little showroom. And at the very moment when this picture was taken, there was a bald guy standing at the side staring at us. hmm...

All of us had meatballs! yeay!

After we had our meatballs we quickly drove back to college, and got there *almost* in time, thanks to Meera’s good experience in driving and her reliable sense of direction especially in avoiding traffic jams. Way to go Meera! hoho :p

Gonna have as much as random short outings before our works get piled up! Or, until we all get broke. hahah. It’s early of the month, everyone is rich. for now.

Since Azima’s leaving for Australia to further her studies in about 11 days, we decided to go out and have some fun! Initially it was supposed to be a girls’ day out but we needed someone to take our photographs. ahahahaha!

Our first assignment for Design Studio 1 is to design a pencil case using either  wood, metal, foam, rubber or wax. We didn’t get to choose the material on our own but we could always exchange it with other people. I initially wanted to do metal but changed my mind to accepting anything I get just for the thrill of not knowing and I got wax. and at that time, I had no idea what I could do with wax. It didn’t even cross my mind that candle is wax. hahah.

So anyways, this is the first stage of design process, to explore the possibilities of the material. We are not supposed to make anything yet, not supposed to make it beautiful, or represent anything at all, but to experiment and stretch the potential of wax.

Experiment 1: Casted in random metal shapes and stuck the abstract pieces together.

Experiment 2: Casted in handmade aluminum foil casing and experimented with water to create voids in the wax.
